Character Summary
Lowyth is a scrappy, kind hearted, and competitive man. Standing up for other’s dreams alongside his own, most likely fighting for them too; more often than not way in over his head. Nonetheless he keeps a good conscious for his own well being and for others.
“Everyone has a purpose in life, I intend mine to make it better for everyone”
Though showing a exuberantly vibrant spirit and feisty personality, deep down he is emotionally unsure about himself, whether he should be loved at all considering his situation. Often having trouble letting those get so emotionally close, which leads to situations where he makes bad decisions not letting others reach that point. Overtime, his walls break down letting the vibrant spirit rest to show the soft, warm soul he bares and reaching the comfortable point of sharing.
One of the most important aspects he holds is names. Lowyth holds names to high esteem from him generally loving life. There are times others have to knock his head down a peg such as naming animals being detrimental, but through and through Lowyth wants to learn everyone’s name to truly understand or connect with them.
One of the worst things that can happen when reaching the point of animosity with Lowyth would be him actively refusing to ignore one’s name.
“We all need a name, it gives us individuality, conscious, and it tells us we lived”
Character Motivations, etc.
Upon his awakening, he had the rude interruption of his Cheezen infection, as a result he both seeks out answers to why he has it alongside him being tasked to defend the Bastion and The Salami. However he fundamentally goes against the reason guardian’s need a clean slate. This causes tension leading Lowyth to be a bit more adversive, but ready to fight, instigating his reason to get stronger because he wants to prepare for that day something will go bad and he will have to strike out on his own alongside hiding his Cheezen side (This will make him an unfortunate liar). He feels too off around fighting Cheezens to the point where he actively refuses to fight or worse kill them, oddly Cheezens understand him too, at a point. Initially Lowyth wants to get rid of his Cheezen infection, as time passes he learns to grow more in tune to his Cheezen side reaching a point where he’s just whole as Human and Cheezen. The turning point in his mid series character arc is when he fully accepts his human and Cheezen sides are who he is now (akin to Rumi, he need both sides for his story). Upon learning who he is in Chapter 2, he kind of struggles as now he is fundamentally a lie, not Lowyth Bailey, too much of a Cheezen to be a Guardian, and now a forgotten dream. This leads to him wanting to help others keep their dreams (Lowyth adds to flaws by being someone who doesn’t care for himself from the burden of knowledge, even as a sage. He is in both a stallwart in the good, but a hypocrite to villains). However, he is in the odd position that he both remembers the past, Cheezen infection is bringing back more and more memories, letting him connect to Alice in an odd way, but also in the case that he now has the ability to hear Cheezens. All this comes crashing down when Star Raiser dies by The Expired’s hand, alongside Lowyth succumbing to the infection fully due to the irrepairable damage to his human body. Now Lowyth is in a complete reset position needing a new motivation now that he is fundamentally now an enemy of The Vanguard. This leads to him meeting project #5 and the smol Cheezens. Thanks to the outburst Cheezens on Earth are now gaining emotional sentience, intelligence, and wisdom now evolving into a true species; their goal wanting to just be left alone. Lowyth though Cheezen, now sees a new problem, The Vanguard could possibly wipe out the colonies thus making a new motivator for Lowyth, keep the Cheezens safe and to at least set up a home so they can live peacefully. Everything changes for him upon learning San reincarnated and is his son, Lowyth kind of gets restored to a point back to his old self, but still broken. Now Lowyth has a greater reason to protect his Cheezen peers, ensure peace between them and The Vanguard, alongside protecting his son so San can grow up to experience the world. Lowyth became father. This exemplifies again with Lowyth wanting to protect his Cheezens upon realizing Al’ Dante will kill them all if Mozarr is slain, thus pushing Lowyth to on that journey to Mars; Protecting San, protecting his colonies, carry the will of all those who passed to make sure they didn’t die for nothing like Acacia and the Guardian peers, and ensuring that the Final Pie won’t happen. Then he makes the sacrifice to protect the Okunoryu hatchling, adding another motivator, he knows what it’s like to lose family thanks to his memories, so now he wants to ensure Novium can find her child again. This puts him in conflict with The Vanguard who need the wish, but Lowyth refuses in order to bring back the baby Okunoryu back to their mother. From there Novium and Lowyth just understand each other as parents, which then leads to Lowyth taking full action and force to confront the Final Pie and stop it for good, for everyone.
